At the early ages of my life I was very much interested to visit Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple. I vehemently insist on my father to take me there, whenever I got an impulse to see the Shrine. I have already told you that he was a retail merchant and consequently he got little time to visit the temples except Sree Thiruvani Bhagavathi Temple, Moonalingal, which is very near to the shop. My father used take bath from there in the very early morning and only after taking obeisances from the shrine he used to open the shop. At that time my brother Kuttayi, step brother Bhaskaran and Karunan from Chelannur were there to support my father. So I have got my first meal from Pazhani, the abode of God Subramania, and my naming ceremony was also done from there by a priest who pronounced my name as Pa..pa..Pazhani velu in Tamil and its Malayalam version is Velayudhan(Some of my friends used to call me Velu atten. I don't know whether they are calling me with respect or mockery, whatever it may be, I don't bother about it). Now my father and brother are in the abode of God and some of my earlier colleagues were also there. Apart from our greatest Scientist like Dr P R Pisharoty, Dr C M Jacob, Er P Kumaraswami, Dr S Vasudeve, Dr V K Vamadevan, Dr S Kabeerathumma, Dr S Rajagopalan Nair, Mr A B George, Ms Pushpa Raghavayya, and my colleagues like Shri. Balakrishnan,Shri. Sasi, Shri. Nanuasan, Shri Ieswaran Potti, Shri.Kumaran, Shri. Rajan and the latest Shri Kuunhikrishnan are also in the abode of God.
Shri. P.K.Kunhikrishnan and his wife Lakshmi Bhai were our neighbor in CWRDM quarters life. He visited most of the Temples for the blessings of a child and they got it after about fourteen years and the boy(Jaysanker) is now studying in 8th standard. After a heart operation from Sree Chitra Medical Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, Mr Kunhikrishnan(59) passed away on 14-10-2008. His body was cremated in the compound of his house in Chemmarathur(Near Priyadharshni bus stop), Vadakara. Owing to MAC meeting I was unable to attend the function along with my colleagues. Latter myself and wife along with Smt Vijayam Raman visited the deceased family and it was a very sad plight! Mr Kunhikrishnan had retired from CWRDM in 2004 without Service Pension and his family spent more than two lakh rupees for his operation to elongate his life, but it was in vain. We were unable to pacify the bereaved family and left from there with great anguish. I pray God to give them strength to over come the difficulties inflicted on them.
